Long time No BLOG....

But not to worry, I am updating it today with a lot of pictures

Sorry I haven't written in a while, things are quite busy at work.

On Snapfish, there are photos from the "boy trip" to NJ, our trip to AZ and I think some other random photos.

In AZ, I took Kyan and Foster to a Christmas parade in Tempe while Brian worked. I was telling Kyan about Christmas and Santa. And if you are good, you get presents from Santa. Well as you know, we bribed him when he was potty training with "presents" each time he pooped on the potty. So after I explain to him a few times that Santa brings presents, I told him on Christmas morning you get presents, and he responds with, "I gotta poop for presents?" I told him, no, you need to be good for presents. It was the funniest thing, then he says "Oh, I be good for presents, don't have to poop for presents" It was very funny

Another funny thing, when we were driving home, yes 8.5 hours later... near Palm Springs where all the WindMills are, it was dark out and we couldn't really tell if Kyan was asleep or not, he kinda looked it fro him body posture and I know he was getting tired. But all the sudden, we hear in his cute little excited voice, "I see WINDMILLLLLLLLLS" I turned to Brian as he turned to me, we both said, I don't think he is asleep. Then Kyan would go on to say I see more windmills

Halloween and other things

Halloween was fun, Kyan had to warm up to the idea of going to houses and saying trick or treat. We went to Alice's and then Brian took Kyan to her neighbors house, well Kyan wanted Brian to go up and say trick or treat, while he stayed on the drive way. Well teh lady met them half way.

Then we hung out at Alice's for a while. Then went next door, they had no candy :-( then we went to some other houses on our street that had the lights on, pretty much all of them had candy or something for Kyan except one house, didn't have candy. We got playdough at one house, black and green.

So then we went to the church that we pass going to school everyday that said they were having a halloween festival, with a bouncy house, and games, and food. So we went there, again it took Kyan a little while to warm up to it but then he had fun. He was crazy in the bouncy house. They let a certain number of kids in, then they go up the step to the slide and slide out , that was the exit. Well by the end, there were bigger kids doing sommersaults down there, so by the end of Kyan's night, he was going down head first on his belly and then rolling. He was one sewaty looking kid, but he had fun.

Also, Grammy got Kyan a chair that won't tip over so much, apparently it is quite comfy, or he was that tired. I will let you figure out what picture or 2 I am referring too. Kyan also got his "haircut like dad's" He is totally cute. Last night, he was eating Doritos with no shirt on and jeans on, what a little hottie

The parade at school was very cute, kinda total mayhem. There are pictures from that. Some pictures are of random things.

Foster is doing good, he has had green beans, sweet potatoes, bananas and cereal so far. He likes them all as far as we can tell.

My first week back to work was fine, everyone told me how much they missed me and am glad I am back, that is always nice to hear.

Foster's 4 month stats

We just came back from Foster's 4 month doctor appt.

He got his shots and did great.
He is 25 1/4" long
and 13lbs 11ounces

and the exciting news is we get to start rice cereal with him, so after he wakes up and eats, then he can try some rice cereal then if he likes it, after 4 days, we can try veggies and then fruit with him

Also, tomorrow, Brian, Foster and myself are going to Santa Anita race track to watch the horse named after Brian run its first race. One of the guys Brian knows from UCLA was looking into buying a horse to race a few years back and bought one and told Brian he would name it after him. So the horse's name is Dohnster. I am taking my camera so hopefully we get to go to the paddock area and we can get some photos of Dohnster with the Dohnster

A few goings on...

Sorry I haven't written in a while.

We have a few things to report.
Foster is getting big, he just started rolling over. He has been very close, but Sunday night, I put him in bed and when I went to check on him, cause he was making noise, he was on his belly with his face in the mattress. That kinda made me nervous, so I flipped him over and couldn't really sleep that night cause I kept checking on him to make sure his face wasn't flat on the mattress. He did fine and when I checked on him in the morning, he was back on his belly with his little tushy up in the air, and his face resting on his hands, it was really cute.

He goes to the dr on the 21st for his 4 month visit, so we think we will be able to start him on cereal, I think he will gobble that all up.

Kyan is doing good. Sunday, after Brian's big soccer win, oh and by the way, Brian scored a GOALASOOOOOOOOO, on a crossing ball that he headed into to ground.Of course I was taking pictures and decided to sit down and I am not even lying, maybe 30 seconds after that, he scored, grrrrrrr

But anyways, after the game, we went to the farm when we pick fruit, to go to Wild West Day there, it was fun. We got pumpkins, did a corn maze, grammy, foster and I beat kyan and brian, brian tries to tell us he let kyan lead for the first while, uh huh.....So the picture you will see in the photos in the middle of long healthy corn stalks is them trying to get to the big haystack we where standing on in the middle. We probably beat them by 15 minutes, although, the maze was huge and this year, you couldn't see the haystack to see when you had to go.

We got a new camera so it might take longer for photos to upload but I am gonna try to condense them so it goes quicker(to upload).

OK here are a lot of photos, it is gonna take a while to go through them

ok change of plans, I am uploading them to snapfish so you can go through them, where as the place I usually do it , makes them kinda like a montage and you can't stop and start again, I think you would have to go through the whole list again

Enjoy

Funny potty story from IVillage

Someone posted this that they got this email from their girlfriend, it is quite funny

Subject: Potty Training
My little guy, Cade, is quite a talker. He loves to communicate
and does it quite well. He talks to people constantly, whether
we're in the library, the grocery store or at a drive-thru window.
People often comment on how clearly he speaks for a
just-turned- 3-year-old. And you never have to ask him to turn
up the volume. It's always fully cranked. There have been
several embarrassing times that I've wished the meaning
of his words would have been masked by a not-so-audible voice,
but never have I wished this more than last week at Costco.

Halfway through our shopping trip, nature called, so I took
Cade with me into the restroom.
If you'd been one of the ladies in the restroom that evening, this is
what you would have heard coming from the second to the last stall:
''Mommy , are you gonna go potty?
Oh! Why are you putting toiwet paper on the potty, Mommy?
Oh! You gonna sit down on da toiwet paper now?
Mommy, what are you doing?
Mommy, are you gonna go stinkies on the potty?'

At this point I started mentally counting how many women
had been in the bathroom when I walked in. Several stalls
were full ... 4? 5?

Maybe we could wait until they all left before I had to
make my debut out of this stall and reveal my identity.
Cade continued:

'Mommy, you ARE going stinkies aren't you?
Oh, dats a good girl, Mommy!
Are you gonna get some candy for going stinkies on
the potty?
Let me see doze stinkies, Mommy!
Oh ... Mommy! I'm trying to see in dere.
Oh! I see dem. Dat is a very good girl, Mommy. You
are gonna get some candy!'

I heard a few faint chuckles coming from the stalls
on either side of me. Where is a screaming newborn when
you need her? Good grief. This was really getting embarrassing.
I was definitely waiting a long time before exiting. Trying to
divert him, I said, 'Why don't you look in Mommy's purse
and see if you can find some candy. We'll both have some.

'No, I'm trying to see doze more stinkies.
Oh! Mommy!'

He started to gag at this point.
'Uh - oh, Mommy. I fink I'm gonna frow up.
Mommy, doze stinkies are making me frow up!!
Dat is so gross!!'

As the gags became louder, so did the chuckles
outside my stall. I quickly flushed the toilet in hopes of
changing the subject. I began to reason with myself:
OK. There are four other toilets. If I count four flushes,
I can be reasonably assured that those who
overheard this embarrassing monologue will be long gone.

'Mommy! Would you get off the potty, now? I want you to be
done going stinkies! Get up! Get up!'
He grunted as he tried to pull me off. Now I could hear
full-blown laughter. I bent down to count the feet outside my door.

'Oh, are you wooking under dere, Mommy?
You wooking under da door?
What were you wooking at?
Mommy? You wooking at the wady's feet?'

More laughter. I stood inside the locked door and
tried to assess the situation.

'Mommy, it's time to wash our hands, now.
We have to go out now, Mommy.'
He started pounding on the door. 'Mommy,
don't you want to wash your hands? I want to go out!!'

I saw that my 'wait 'em out' plan was unraveling. I
sheepishly opened the door, and found standing outside my
stall, twenty to thirty ladies crowded around the stall, all smiling
and starting to applaud.

My first thought was complete embarrassment, then I
thought, 'Where's the fine print on the 'motherhood
contract' where I signed away every bit of my dignity and privacy?'
But as my little boy gave me a big, cheeky grin while he
rubbed bubbly soap between his chubby little hands, I thought,
I'd sign it all away again, just to be known as Mommy to this little
fellow.

Meeting Mia

A few weeks ago, Foster and I went to Lori and Mia's house. It was fun to gt together, we just hung out and talked and fed our little whippersnappers. Here are a few pictures from our playdate. I just want to preface this by saying, Foster is not a huge monster baby, he was leaning on a pillow closer to the camera. I feel like the iamges show him as this huge baby. Mia was born on July 4th and is about 10.5 lbs here.

Totally Funny

Monday night we went to play mini golf. It is quite funny with a 2 1/2 year old. Let's just say, I played one hole correctly, and that was because Brian took Kyan to go make pee pee. There was a hole that you hit the ball near this house and it comes out down below. So Kyan, no lie, must have "played" this hole at least 20 times. Granted about half of them, he would drop the ball down the hole and sprint down the ramp to see it come out. The first time he ran down, he had too much momentum that he went well wide of the path and ended up on the grasss.

It was fun to watch. Another hole, you hit the ball up a small ramp and you hit it at the corner then it goes up to the right. Well I went first, Kyan runs up and grabs the ball and puts it right next to the hole. I turned to Brian, I am pretty good at this, all the balls end up right near the hole. Well then Kyan would kick them back down to the beginning. So Brian would hit the 3 balls, and then they would come back at him. I told him you better start hitting them faster and harder so Kyan can chase one and you can get the other 2 up there. It was quite funny.

He also played SKEEBALL and we played air hockey, it was fun, he had fun

Laws of a Toddler

I found this on IVillage:

Property Laws of a Toddler

If I like it, it's mine.
If it's in my hand, it's mine.
If I can take it from you, it's mine.
If I had it a little while ago, it's mine.
If it's mine, it must not ever appear to be yours in any way.
If I'm doing or building something, all of the pieces are mine.
If it looks just like mine, it's mine.
If I saw it first, it's mine.
If you're playing with something and you put it down, it automatically becomes mine.
If it's broken, it's yours.

Spitting image

Quite similar, I just need to curl his hair to a point on top...

Did you know....

Did you know if you put coins in the cd player of a car, it won't work anymore? ARGHHHH

We had a fun weekend even though Rutgers lost.

Brian and Kyan went to swimming lessons, Kyan wasn't really into doing what he was supposed to but he had fun in the water anyways. He has a girlfriend there, her name is Sloan. She does what he does. When he gets out of the water to jump in, she will too. They give each other high fives. They are cute.

Kyan wouldn't take a nap on Saturday so finally at 5:30 he crashed and fell asleep and woke up about 5:30am the next morning.

We went to the beach on Sunday. Kyan and Brian made sand castles and Brian caught those little round crabs for Kyan. Well by the end of it, Kyan probably had a good 30+ crabs in his bucket. At one point, we had to let them go back into the sand so they would live and catch new ones. We also saw dolphins swimming and pelicans flying. That was fun. Kyan fell asleep on the way home for about 45 minutes or so.

Monday we watched Rutgers and I watched UCLA (Foster watched the 2nd half) Kyan fell asleep at 4:30pm, and guess what time he woke up???? 5:45 this am. I put him in bed last night around 9:30 thinking he would wake up but nope, out like a light. I think the reason he woke up this am was becasue he bed was wet from pee pee

Also, yesterday, we knew he had to go poops, so we read online, some people leave the child clotheless on the bottom, so we decided to try it. Well he kept saying he had to poop, so we took him in the bathroom probably 10 times, he would tinkle or not and get off the potty. Finally, i really knew he had to go since he would walk funny and ask for pullups on, he wanted to then sit on his lil potty, he did for a minute, then asked for the big potty and Lo and Behold, he pooped. YAHOOOOO We got him little toys as presents and rewards if he pooped on the potty. So he got to pick out a toy. He also pooped a tiny bit on Saturday, but we think that was more of a mistake but hey, poop is poop.

I will post some pictures later, we have to go food shopping now

He weighs 12.8 lbs and is 23 1/2 inches tall
Born, he was, 8.15lbs and 21 inches long, so he is growing

the dr said he looked great

Kyan is doing much better, not really coughing and back to acting like himself

Kyan's sick

I brought Kyan to the dr yesterday morning. Saturday night he woke up coughing and crying, put him back to bed, then again and again. Finally brought him into my bed and with in a few minutes, threw up. ARGHHH

That night he was up all night, every 10-20 minutes, he would cry in pain and couldn't get comfortable.

Finally at 6:15am we gave hime advil and he wanted to go to sleep in his bed. You know something was up if that was the case. He slept for about 2 hours and was still warm when he got up.

the dr says he has a virus. His throat is very red, ears are a mess. She told us to give him cough med at night, nose spray once in the am, claratin in the am. And hopefully it will clear him up and he will be better.

She said to keep him home for a few days.

He stayed home Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday(today) Brian is taking him to play mini golf. Sunday he was very blah, never got off the couch until about noon or so, just wanted to lay around.

He actually took naps on Sunday and Monday willingly.

Hopefully Brian will take a few mini golf pictures with hi phone and I can post them later.

Foster and I are at Saturn waiting to get Scarlet's oil chamged.

Pictures and Videos

Yeah Yeah Yeah I know, it has been a while. Here are some pictures from the last month or so. I will upload videos over night, I think it might take a while

Here are some updates, Foster is getting big, we take him to the dr on Aug 21 for his 2 month checkup so we will get official stats on him. Unofficially I have him at 23" long according to measuring him on the changing table and 11 1/2 lbs on Aug 1.

Kyan is doing good, still gives Foster lots of hugs and kisses.

These pictures are from around the house, the zoo, dca, and from the fair. As for the videos, there are some fair videos, and yes the infamous one is there.

Brian's soccer team lost its first game, but.... they are still in first place, they are 3-1 I believe. They are playing like a real team now, it is fun to watch how much better the have gotten

OC Fair

Last week, we went to the OC Fair, it was fun. Kyan had a blast, went on a lot of rides and even came home with a new best friend. Brian, Kyan and I rode on Kitty, the 40 yr old elephant. That was fun, the whole time Kyan was laughing, and with each step Kitty took, Brian and I would go woaaaah, wooahhhhh. Video is coming, I will upload that tomorrow.

Kyan also won a gold fish, ok I will be honest, if you play 10 times you automatically win one. He loved it, you can tell by the pictures how much he was in awww to have it. Kyan and Daddy went down the big slide, video coming also. The only thing he didn't like was he went into an attraction which had balls, rope ladder, slides and a few other things and he went to the second level and there was a enclosed slide. We weren't aloud to go in with him, so he got scared, he didn't quite get the enclosed slide. The workers had to help him and bypass the slide and then he finished the fun.

We also went into another attraction, it was one of those things where the floor was uneven, and moved, to start, you had to go through a rotating cirlce thing. You had to walk through it. Ok can you see where this is going??? I was trying to figure out the best way to help Kyan through it. Well I obviously chose wrong. I tried to hold both his hand and I dind't walk fast enough, well I wiped out BIG time, don't worry, Brian got it on tape, YES I think we can win $10K. So I al sliding all around trying to get up, Kyan made it to the other side some how, and I am still floundering. I finally got up and had the worker dude turn off the rotating thing so I could walk through.

Anyways, now that you stopped laughing, here are the pictures

Some 1 month pix of Foster

I took some 1 month pictures of Foster yesterday. Hard to believe he is a month old already. He is getting big, his cheeks are getting chubby. He pretty much eats all the time. Eats, sleeps, poops and hiccups.

Tomorrow we are going to the OC Fair, that should be fun. Last year, Brian, Kyan and Grandma went and had fun, so we will all go this time.

Funny story, the other day, we got a Build A Bear in the mail for Foster's arrival. Kyan was playing with it and decided he needed to feed it. He called it his baby. So what does he do? Holds it like how I hold Foster when I feed him, lifts up his shirt and puts his baby to his skin. It was so funny and so cute. He has done it a few times since then, but it was very funny.

Here are the pictures of Foster and a few from our trip to DCA.

Our First Post with our changes

here is the first entry of our new blog

Kyan and Foster are doing great. Kyan is adjusting well and loves to kiss Foster and check on him and make sure he is ok. He likes to kiss him and make sure he still has his toes and hands

let me give you a little info on how things went before the delivery.

on Friday. I took a nap and woke up around 4pm. My stomach felt kinda blah, almost like cramps but it was more of a constant pressure that wouldn't really go away. I wasn't crampy, but more of a constant pressure that just felpt different from before. I think I have felt it before, but for some reason, it wouldn't really go away. I called our Dr and like you found our he wasn't on call until 9pm that night, kinda shocking. Anyways, the dr on call called back and this was one of the days that we lost power and was hot out again, so she wanted to make sure it wasn't dehydration. She said go home(we were picking up Kyan) drink water, lay down and see if it goes away. If it doesn't go away, go to the hospital and have them monitor you to see if you are having contractions. I tried that, also ate something, since if we were going to the hospital, I wanted to make sure I ate a little something. The feeling didn't go away. So we went to the hospital around 7pm.

When the checked me I was 2 cm, when I went to our dr on Wed he said there was no real changed from the last week, so at least we know something was brewwing.

They called my dr and waited until aroudn 9pm and he said if I wanted to stay I could or we could monitor things from home. With now feeling the contractions, I felt much more comfortable staying there since we asked what we would be looking for at home. we decided, it is not like you are gonna go home to sleep, since you are feeling pain, I would rather stay if that was ok.

We good thing we did. It was kinds funny, I was laying there thinking, hmm, I don't really feel any contractions for a while, except for 2 not too long ago. Well, I got up to pee and thought, hmm, something is a little moist down there. I looked on the bed and there was yellowish mustard color here and there. Brian went out to get the nurse to see if my water broke. She sadi yup, back in bed. Said it looks like the baby pooped inside. So now when the baby comes they will have th NICU team here to check the baby and slurp out the lungs and whatever else of the meconium if there was any there. So after they cleaned that all up, she checked me again and I was 5cm. Yahooo, we are getting somewhere, and we were thinking, boy I am glad we didn't go home.

So my water broke at 1:25am, after that, they called for an epidural since I didn't want to get too far ahead before they say nope too late. So the epidural was in at about 2:10am, the catheter put in right after that(you do't feel anything) now at least I don't have worry about peeing anymore.

So as it was getting later, like around 5-6am, I could feel a littel more pressure towards my bottom. No urge to push but more like someone was pushing on me lightly. We told the nurse, she checked me again, and we have been telling them how Kyan came quick. She said OK, no pushing, we are calling Dr Kohn NOW to get here. He came in about 6:50, checked me, said yup we are ready. They got the last minute things ready and we soon started to push. He had to tell me when since I couldn't feel the contractions. I think we pushed 4 rounds worth and Foster came out at 7:04am

We didn't know whether the baby was a boy or a girl, cause the NICU team was doing their thing, while just his head was out, then the cord I think was around the neck, not babdly, then it was dangling down his body when they put him on me. Brian was saying, I can't tell what it is, I can't tell, they moved the cord, and the reast was history.I would say little Foster was here but I guess we shoudl say Big Foster is here.

So he was born 8lb 15 ounces, but left the hospital 8lbs 5 ounces. We go to the ped on Thursday to have hsi first appt beside when she saw him in the hosp.

So that is the quick version of the story.

here are the pictures we took

Kyan is doing really well

He is doing really well with the potty training, he even made poops on (ok in) the potty on Sunday night. So far today he went 3 times before school, yesterday he went 4 times and the day before, he went I think 3 times. We were paying for school yesterday and he was kinda fidgeting, so I asked him if he had to go and he said yes. I took him to the potty at school and he went. Miss Monica asked us to bring in underpants for him, so we did on Tuesday. Yesterday when we picked him up, he had them on, talk about freakin cute. So it seemed like it just clicked 2 or 3 days ago. He would go once in a while but not nearly once a day. Now he at least tries to go everytime we ask him if he needs to go, so we are quite proud. Hopefully he keeps it up and keeps up the good work.

On Memorial Day, we went ot USC where they have the Butterfly exhibit, then we had a picnic in the Rose Garden, that was fun. We also were the hit of the parade. We brought our big bubble maker and we had quite the crowd around us with kids wanting to take turns trying it out.

He DID IT

Kyan made pee pee in his potty today, YAHOOOOO

Brian and he went in there, Brian had him sit on it, and went outsdie to get the paper. Kyan said Momma come here, Brian came back in and said I am coming. Kyan met Brian in the hallway with no clothes on (kyan had no clothes on) and Brian went with him in the bathroom and I heard Brian YAHHOOO-ing and cheering for Kyan. I went down there and cheered with him. Kyan was so proud, running around naked. I told him I had a present for him. Grammy got him some Thomas trains as a gift for when the baby got here, to give to him in the hospital, so I felt I should give him somehting special for going in the potty. He was very excited about Neville (Nebille as he calls it) the Train. Hopefully, he will see how excited we were and will do it again.

Funny story. So Brian had him try to go again before they left for school. So I guess Kyan sat there and tried really hard to go. Brian said you could see this look of major concentration. But nothing came out. Kyan said '"Dadda wee wee broken" Brian was like what?? Kyan said Wee Wee broken. He thought it was broekn cause nothing came out. Brian expalined that as long as you try that is ok, you don't always have to make pee pee, but at least try to go. I thought that was rather cute.

I updated the Disneyland Pictures

A bunch of them were being cut off, so I redid them, they should all be viewable now

One last thing...

Kyan officially started potty training at scholl yesterday. They asked us to bring in Pull-Ups. So I guess they take them to the bathroom every 50 minutes and have them sit and try to go. They said they saw one dot of pee in the potty and made a huge deal of it so he was happy. He uses pull-ups right now during the day, the diapers at night. Hopefully today he will go in the potty. The one change we see already is, he usually doesn't really want anything to do with his potty, except use it as a step stool, now he sits on it and tries to make pee pee.
