Kyan is doing really well

He is doing really well with the potty training, he even made poops on (ok in) the potty on Sunday night. So far today he went 3 times before school, yesterday he went 4 times and the day before, he went I think 3 times. We were paying for school yesterday and he was kinda fidgeting, so I asked him if he had to go and he said yes. I took him to the potty at school and he went. Miss Monica asked us to bring in underpants for him, so we did on Tuesday. Yesterday when we picked him up, he had them on, talk about freakin cute. So it seemed like it just clicked 2 or 3 days ago. He would go once in a while but not nearly once a day. Now he at least tries to go everytime we ask him if he needs to go, so we are quite proud. Hopefully he keeps it up and keeps up the good work.

On Memorial Day, we went ot USC where they have the Butterfly exhibit, then we had a picnic in the Rose Garden, that was fun. We also were the hit of the parade. We brought our big bubble maker and we had quite the crowd around us with kids wanting to take turns trying it out.

He DID IT

Kyan made pee pee in his potty today, YAHOOOOO

Brian and he went in there, Brian had him sit on it, and went outsdie to get the paper. Kyan said Momma come here, Brian came back in and said I am coming. Kyan met Brian in the hallway with no clothes on (kyan had no clothes on) and Brian went with him in the bathroom and I heard Brian YAHHOOO-ing and cheering for Kyan. I went down there and cheered with him. Kyan was so proud, running around naked. I told him I had a present for him. Grammy got him some Thomas trains as a gift for when the baby got here, to give to him in the hospital, so I felt I should give him somehting special for going in the potty. He was very excited about Neville (Nebille as he calls it) the Train. Hopefully, he will see how excited we were and will do it again.

Funny story. So Brian had him try to go again before they left for school. So I guess Kyan sat there and tried really hard to go. Brian said you could see this look of major concentration. But nothing came out. Kyan said '"Dadda wee wee broken" Brian was like what?? Kyan said Wee Wee broken. He thought it was broekn cause nothing came out. Brian expalined that as long as you try that is ok, you don't always have to make pee pee, but at least try to go. I thought that was rather cute.

One last thing...

Kyan officially started potty training at scholl yesterday. They asked us to bring in Pull-Ups. So I guess they take them to the bathroom every 50 minutes and have them sit and try to go. They said they saw one dot of pee in the potty and made a huge deal of it so he was happy. He uses pull-ups right now during the day, the diapers at night. Hopefully today he will go in the potty. The one change we see already is, he usually doesn't really want anything to do with his potty, except use it as a step stool, now he sits on it and tries to make pee pee.

DCA and Disneyland Pix

We had a blast at Disneyland and California Adventure. Kyan had lots of fun too. So much fun, he slept for about 10.5 hours last night.

He got to push the button for the horn on the monorail, that was very exciting. We went on the train, monorail and the Buzz ride in Disneyland.

In DCA, we went on Monsters Inc, Muppets 4D show, the Aladdin Stage show, Playhouse Disney show, the merry go round, the Sun Wheel. He was too small for Jumping Jellies so that was quite disappointed, I could have sworn it was 35" but it is 40" so he will probably have to wait another year or so.

We saw a great parade in DCA, it was all PIXAR movies, so Kyan loved it, we saw Lightning McQueen, Mater, Buzz, Woody. they had bubbles, and at the end of the parade Kyan was trying to catch all the bubbles. He almost had a meltdown when the last bubble he was chasing, popped. Let's just say, he had the quivering lip.

We were also in line for the Playhouse Disney show and some little girl had her face painted with a big butterfly on it. Well he wanted that, so yes, we let him get his face painted. he was actually very good, sitting there. The guy asked if he wanted pink or blue, and he wanted blue, you know, manly color.

After getting the face painted, he went fishing. They have those carnival type games, where you catch the fish on the magnetic fishing pole and everyone wins, so he won a little ducky. He got upset when that was over too.

Funny story, I was waiting for our lunch. Brian and Kyan were sitting at a table. The guy at the next table, got a bunch of ketchup packets and dropped one on the floor. Kyan saw it and said UT OH. Well I guess the guy didn't hear it, so Kyan said, hey, pick it up. I guess either the guy didn't hear or was ignoring him. So I guess Kyan said pick it up like 2 or 3 more times, and finally the wife told the hubby you dropped one. Finally he picked it up and threw it down on his table. Guess he didn't want a lil kid telling him what to do.

Boys night out

Brian and Kyan are going to San Diego tomorrow morning and having a sleepover there til Thursday. They are having lunch with one of the old UCLA basketball assistants that is now a coach in SD, then on Thursday they are going to SeaWorld. We ahve one pass left that needs to be used by May31, so they are gonna have a boys day out.

I already told my boss, if I am late Thursday, it is because I am sleeping in, YEAH RIGHT, Brian said, who are you kidding you will still wake up at 6am anyways. True, True, but at least I can pretent

Busy Day Yesterday

Yesterday was a busy day.

Brian and Kyan dropped me off at the train station because we had the Tiny Tots Maternity Tour last night, so they would pick me up from work and we would go together since they were going to the zoo.

Then Brian and Kyan went to go see the airplanes. Well a worked drove past them and turned around. Brian thought, is he gonna make us move. It turns out, on the other side of the runway, there was a little "park" type place, where they have picnic tables, broadcast the radio control tower and it is fenced in and probably about 7 feet from the runway. Brian said it was really cool. It is the type of place you could bring a picnic too and hang out for a while. They were probably there for 1hr 15 minutes.

They were going home, taking showers, then off to the zoo.

I called home twice to tell Brian something, first time was to make sure he checked the diaper bag for diapers and extra clothes, since I didn't think I replentished them when we used other clothes. 2nd time was to make sure he brought the zoo envelope since we had to renew our membership, and he said real quick, yeah I got it. I was thinking, this is the same person that can't find something right in front of him if it was about to bite him in the face.

At work, we were having a team lunch at a place called Porto's for the kick off of one of our huge projects this year. Well I had a feeling something was going on and here's why. I went to go ask our HR person something about my leave, I saw a few people walk out the front door. Someone at work, offered to drive me to lunch, usually everyone gathers and says, ok who is driving. And, work, was really quiet, no one was around. HMMMM. And I saw a few other guys leave out the front, thought really nothing of it, since it was Thursday and they usually go out to eat on Thursdays.

So Me and Mike leave, Mike gets this cryptic message and not really sayiing anything but yeah uh huh, Ok, got it, yup. we didn't go on the freeway. Now I was thinking OK I think I know what is going on. He turns to me and says, ok by this time, you probably figured out we aren't going to Porto's, but we are having it. So he kept driving and we went to some park. Well everyone from work was there, probably almost 20 people(all the people that I saw leave earlier)

So I walk up andwe were parked on this hill, I was not about to walk down the slope, it was kinda wet mud, thinking OK I am gonna fall here, so I walked around the slope, go to everyone, and they yelled SURPRISE

So I am getting up to the group, and there were soccer balls and frisbees and blankets all spread around. I see a soccer ball like the one we just found at the park a few weeks ago. I look up and behind everyone is Brian and Kyan. Kyan said Hi Momma, Brian said "we didnt' go to the zoo"

So we had a fun time at the park, ate good food, opened some presents, got a good giftcard.

We then went back to work.

Brian and Kyan went over to Travel Town where you can climb on trains and see old trains for a little while til about 3.

Our Tiny Tots Tour wasn't til 4 at the hospital.

Of course, Kyan fell asleep in the car, so he slept for 30 minutes.

His class was very cute, a bunch of kids who are gonna be big brothers and big sisters, they got to talk and help out. Made a card for the hospital door for the room I will be in. They also got to hold babies and the lady that ran the class showed them how to hold it. Kyan wanted no part in it until after, when he was with Brian, then he held it. Itwas kinda funny. he more or less held it like this is my buddy, you will notice that in the photos. Then we went to the Maternity floor, we saw a 40 minute old baby. Kyan said, "Baby crying" Then we were done

We also went to Costco on they way home to get diapers for Kyan.

So he had a very busy day yesterday. he was wound up leaving the hospital, I guess it was probably overload from the hospital

It was a fun day yesterday.
